The Champagne Stakes is a great test for the 2YOs over a mile. This year’s field is a little smaller than usual, but still interesting none the less. The most notable runner is Waller’s. He has none. For the first time in a long time, Waller has no runners in a Group 1 at Randwick. Is there data on that? Food for thought. So if there is no Waller, there is the Snowdens. Three Snowden runners that all look chances in this race, and really like the look of Untamed. Won over the mile before, should have the fitness for an honestly run race, and Rawiller will ride hard from 2 to get this guy into the best spot. Glenfiddich is interesting if not challenged for the lead, as the leaders have done well in recent weeks at this track. Other dangers are obviously King’s Legacy and Ole Kirk, but sticking with the longest of the Snowden runners to use his tactical speed and turn of foot to be a great chance in this race.
Good Luck
