Tough assignments in the past few weeks, and we need to get the day off to a good start. Moderate pace over a Flemington mile and the data point strongly in a few directions. Really like the look of Brilliant Concept in this race, after a solid win at Sandown last start. nothing to suggest he won’t be suited to Flemington and the extra 20m might do him some good. Midfield transit, early wind-up and a grind to the line. Another eye-catcher at odds is Prince Ziggy, where if the speed is honest and the leaders go deep into the race, this guy has a great chance to peel out and hit the line late. Other dangers are Amoudi Bay and Danon Roman, but sticking with Brilliant Concept to get it done and get us going.
