Compact but quality field for this year’s Gilgai, and strong field quality will allow us to focus in on four runners. No real fight for the lead predicted, and every horse will get their chance to position where they like. Very interesting numbers for Kemalpasa in this race, who has decent tactical speed out of the gate and a great turn of foot late. In addition to this, one of the most reliable pilots in Damian Lane posts a massive a massive 21.7% strike rate to win and 51.9% to place on the Jockey Analysis Tool (JAT) when on pace at this trip. Another interesting runner in Splintex, looks to have great early speed also and can pump out a very strong time after his win here last start. Prebble is 34.7% to place on the Jockey Analysis Tool (JAT), and will give his horse every chance. Zoutori is the 2nd up specialist, and can’t see him running a bad race. Just not sure he will avoid an awkward spot on a softer pace and might have a bit more work to do than usual. The fourth runner is Away Game, who keeps putting in decent runs. Just need her to not get knocked about early and hold a good spot, and she will be in the finish. Looking at the JAT and the position in running, sticking with Kemalpasa from Splintex at the odds.
Good Luck

RUNNER COMMENTRY
NO | NAME | COMMENT |
1 | Zoutori | Fresh specialist, and 2nd up last prep shocked us all. Loves the straight, and top turn of foot in this race. Likely to be coming from the rear, so will need some pressure up front. But hard to seem him fall away from it. |
2 | Splintex | Should have the early speed to settle where Prebble likes. His last run here was impressive, and if he can control the race up front, he might just be too hard to catch. Prebble 34.7% to place when settling midfield. Value |
3 | Kemalpasa | Hard to know where he will land on the edge of the group, but you would think Lane would burn him early to get on pace. From there, he is a massive 21.7% to win and 51.9% to place on the Jockey Analysis Tool (JAT). Won here last year in a tougher race, and no reason he can’t do it again. |
4 | Kementari | He is one of the class horses in this field, but bit of a task first up. No real early speed for him, and expect to see him finish off well without bothering the scorers. |
6 | Away Game | Expect to see her out of the gate well, and racing very well this prep. Decent turn of foot and predicted to be amongst the leaders 200m out. Just needs to keep on pace early to be a strong chance. |
7 | Vulpine | Hard to knock the rider at the minute, and she does have a very strong turn of foot. Expect her to find it tough in the later stages. |
8 | Bons Abroad | She would enjoy the rain, but on her recent times she struggles here. |
9 | Ruby Street | Can rattle home late, but looks to get strung out early. May not be given a chance. |
