Decent field quality for the 1400m to start a big day at Bendigo. Looks to be no real pace in the race, and a red hot South Aussie making the trip looks the obvious leader. Great appointment of Jamie Kah, and you think you would need to be up around the pace to be a chance. Looking at Groundswell to sit off the leader and finish this race well. Might have to ignore his last run down the straight, and he usually races in stronger company. Will be exciting to see Lane and Kah going at it in the later stages, and think the winner will be one of them. Bit of value for Biometric who hasn’t been racing terribly. Whilst Tavidance looks strong but might need the run. Sticking with Groundswell at the odds ahead of Second Slip.

| 6 | Biometric | Deep into his prep but has been running good times. Not the worst draw for falling out the back, and might cause some trouble late. Value. |
| 7 | Man From Uncle | Seems to like some give in the ground and can get out of the gate OK. Data says the later stages of the race will be tough. |
| 8 | Second Slip | In great form coming over from Adelaide, and Motor Kah can relax a leader. Looks the front runner and if no pressure can slip away to an easy win. |
