Flemington – 1400m – RACE 6
A competitive race in the 6th at Flemington, and with the rail in the full 7m, its likely they will come from anywhere. An average tempo predicted, although the speed map and form supports a fight for the lead between Mrs Gardienia, Merriest, Bellaria and Mrs Gunpowder. Dwayne Dunn is likely to let Bella Martini take the trail and tuck in behind the lead with her tactical speed. Flemington can do weird things to leaders, so hard to know if the race will pack up or present a test, so best to look to the data. A strong field quality rating and 100% data quality, Bella Martini has a stand out 1.1 length advantage which suggests she may fly home if the heat is on early. The Hawkes boys are rated the best stable in this race, she has strong second up form, and the gate may assist the tactic. Bella Martini to win.

Flemington – 1600m – RACE 7
Interesting Group 1 with a bunch of quality yet few genuine miles. The form line from the Memsie for many of these gallopers may be misleading, as it was a jump out for some. The data in this race has a strong field quality rating, and the speed maps show no real fight for the lead. Happy Clapper is stand out on the SLB and the SFR, and is the 4th best-rated runner in a huge day of quality races. It was obvious that in the Memsie he was never a chance, and we saw in the Doncaster that if he has space to wind up, the field will know about it. The question about him is Flemington, but with a wide draw and average tempo, he should have a chance to find a rhythm.
Happy Clapper Each Way.
