Need to get off to a good start, so what better way than trying to get an odds on beat. Holbien looks very strong in this race given the big drop in grade and a weaker field, but his Flemington mile form doesn’t look as strong as you’d expect. Really like the look of two other runners in Ocean Miss and Pancho. Ocean Miss looked to be in an OK spot last week and then got knocked about, and you could probably forgive that run. Pancho doesn’t usually fire first up. But be wary of Waller, and he might just fire and be too good at a decent price. Some interesting numbers for Guizot, given they keep racing him. Could just shock us all. Sticking with Pancho and Ocean Miss.

| 8 | France’s Boy | Can get out OK from the draw and box seat. Data suggests he will be able to maintain a pace to the later staged of the race. Might get a bit tough late though. |
| 9 | Sentimentalist | Looks to land mid field, and can keep an even time of the mile. Doesn’t look to have the change in pace to trouble this race. |
| 10 | Ocean Miss | Rated very well for her last start, and on the back up to do better here. Top jockey in the race, and well weighted to come flying home and cause some damage late. |
