Very open race for the open dance down the straight on Derby Day. It might be a hunch, but it feels like these races generally have less pace early. With no jostling for position approaching a turn, horses can take their time to settle in, and rarely do runners get boxed in. The way this race looks to me, the mid fielders with strong acceleration will have an advantage. Really like the look of Octane and Order of Command at odds. They both seem to get into a midfield spot, and they both have very strong late acceleration. Banquo the other strong runner to sit on the pace and just wait for his time to burst out. The data suggests that Order of Command and Octane can give strong chase over the final 200m. Many chances in a high quality race, but backing the value the Order of Command to kick start a big day.

| 6 | Banquo | Looks to fly the gate early, and probably has a lot of freedom out wide. Had a strong turn of foot, and if it’s a slow first section then he might just lead and kick away and be too hard to catch. |

| 9 | Octane | Many high opinions on this guy and fair enough. Done it down the straight before, and looks to take a nice sit midfield in transit, and hit his straps late in the race. Looks hard to beat. |
