Enjoy the distance races at picturesque Mornington Race track. Would be ideal if the cameras could zoom out a bit and give us the feeling of being there. Decent field quality for the 5th event over 2000m. Looks to be some sort of pace in the race, so the fresher and fitter horses are likely to be advantaged. Having said that, fresher and fitter horses are usually advantaged. Still, like the work Big Mike Maroney has been putting together, and Mirimar could be big winner for him today. Jye riding well, and this horse has solid data support to control the race up front and be too fast for them late. The late closers look to be Salsamor and Maclairey, but sticking with Mirimar who looks too strong. Also keeping an eye out for Cappo D’Oro who has boasted strong numbers prior to recent starts, but delivered little this prep. Still racing, maybe a strong performance is coming
