Small field for the Sandown Stakes this year, but over this trip here the favourites only win a third of the time. Given the mix of horses that have raced during the carnival, feeling there might be a value runner getting it done. Data wise, there are four main chances in Junipal, Buffalo River, Galaxy Raider and Iconoclasm. Looks to be no real pace early, and down the long straight at Sandown you think any horse in this race will be a chance. Really liking the profile of Iconoclasm at the odds, after a decent win on Cox Plate day in similar company. Buffalo River looks very strong to sit up front and kick away at the top of the straight, whilst Junipal will want a stronger pace throughout the race to try and swoop late. Galaxy Raider can’t be excluded at the odds, as if it is a messy shuffle after the turn, he has a chance to sit back and wait for his chance late. Sticking with Iconoclasm.

| 6 | Kenya | Looks the leader and might try to give them something to chase. The data says he might not have the endurance to hold the others out, but I think Jye has done this recently? |
